Director of Food and Beverage

The Director of Food and Beverage oversees all food and beverage at the Club, both front and heart of the house operations.

They manage the hiring, training and development of all F&B Employee Partners. This position will ensure that all mandated training programs are implemented as well as full compliance with corporate purchasing procedures.

The Director of Food and Beverage prepares an annual financial budget and achieves these goals throughout the year through proper forecasting, cost controls, labor management and revenue generating programs.

The Food & Beverage Director is an advocate and ambassador of STAR Service and understanding the critical role that Membership and exceeding expectations plays in the success of the operation.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively and hospitably with Members, guests, and Employee Partners
  • Involved with all day-to-day functions including staff management, Member and guest interactions, office administration duties, vendor communications, and labor costs.
  • Required to ensure that operational standards are met in regards to sanitation codes and laws, food storage, and loss prevention.

Job Qualifications

– College degree preferred

– Four years of Food & Beverage, private dining experience preferred

– Proven track record of team management, organizational and coaching skills

– Solid understanding of a la carte and banquet revenue generation

– Comprehensive knowledge of expense control as it relates to payroll and forecasting

– Experience with purchasing and inventory systems

– Creative menu development skills

– Strong technical literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel, payroll management and POS

– Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employee Partners and guests

Seeking a First Assistant Superintendent for courses comprised of 36 holes with 18 on the Championship Course par 72 (Dominion Valley) , and 18 on the Short Course par 62(  Regency). Both Courses have Bentgrass – cool season grass greens, tees and fairways and Bluegrass/Fescue roughs.


The First Assistant Superintendent is responsible for the supervision as directed of the golf course maintenance operation and staff under the leadership of the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure the healthy growth of the golf course & Clubhouse Grounds grasses, trees, wetlands, and other plant materials. The duties include assessing and providing guidance and expertise to maintain rigorous industry and environmental standards in turf quality, including use of specialized knowledge in various fields of agronomy and horticulture. Based on such knowledge, responsible for making recommendations and decisions to address or direct others to address any issues with turf quality in conjunction with the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent.

  

The First Assistant Superintendent will participate in the hiring, training and developing all staff, including ensuring the staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.

Job Requirements

– 2-3 years experience in Golf Course Maintenance

– Min 2-year College Agronomy Degree required

– Pesticide Applicators License required

– Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping as required by local, state and federal laws

Assistant Golf Professional

The Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for promoting the game of golf and the club while providing hospitality focused service to our Members and guests. They organize and promote all Club Tournaments and other special events/functions at the Club. Responsibilities

  • Recruit, select and develop a qualified staff, including Department Heads, to understand the relationships between value, Member Satisfaction and Member retention/attrition
  • Develop Employee Partners for career advancement through the use of Performance Review Systems, Cross Training, and Development Planning
  • Actively participate in Club events, making use of significant personal contact as a means of gathering feedback
  • Ensure follow up on serious Member complaints/concerns quickly and effectively

Job Requirements
